My current third generation kindle is doing great so I do not really have a motivation to upgrade. That said if amazon will sweeten the deal by giving ame a significant discount in exchange for my current reader it might be possible. However the current offerings for the older generations of kindles are two low. As a moatter of policy I upgrade and replace computers once every four years to take advantage of the new technology, since my reader was bought june of 2011 I would not be looking for new technology until June of 2015. For now the reader I have is sufficent for my needs.
