Except perhaps Sony, who would have to eat the costs of such a deal (at a time when they're already eating lots of costs)
They're in the business of making money, and business ain't all that good for them lately. If they had to eat that kind of cost for the PRS line, they'd probably just drop it entirely. I doubt the Reader team would have much say in the matter either. That's not something I want to see happen, myself.
