And there are a lot of helpful reviews (although perhaps more for devices rather than books) who bought things elsewhere.

True. But it's not like he or his publisher bought 300 fake reviews. This guy did it himself, and kind of amateurishly.
Although I am surprised that someone as relatively successful as this author stooped to this level.

Yeah, I like that they're banning fake reviews; but it's obvious they need to do a little more. Maybe only allow authors to publish reviews under their own name.
