Use the right click options on the Library icon:
1) Create (a) Library (

on a a portable drive) using the existing Libraries structure if you have custom columns.
2) Switch back to your Library
3) Select Books to Copy, Right-click: Copy to Library (the portable one

)
4) When done, unmount the drive and sneaker over to her machine
2 choices: 1) Delete and Replace THE CONTENTS of her Calibre Library folder with the ENTIRE contents of the Folder on the portable drive.
DO NOT merge the files this way. 2)attach the drive and switch Libraries to it. Now select all, Right-click: Copy to Library (hers). This is the safe way to merge 2 libraries
