Parenthetically, the awards ceremony was caught in an interesting glitch. Chicon was live streaming the event via Ustream. The stream was abruptly terminated, and the worldcon channel was banned for copyright violation. The termination occurred as Neil Gaiman was accepting the Best Dramatic Presentation, Short Form Hugo for the Doctor Who episode, "The Doctor's Wife" which he wrote. The apparent trigger was that Chicon had shown brief clips of the nominated shows as the nominees were announced, before the announcement of the winner.

The clips were clearly covered by fair use, so the reason for the takedown is unclear. Best guess is that the takedown request was issued by a bot monitoring likely places for violations. Three of the five nominees were Doctor Who episodes, one was Chris Garcia's acceptance speech for the Best Fanzine award last year, and the last was an episode of Community, an NBC series. NBC being overly touchy after the Olympics is a fair guess, and UStream had apparently had previous problems with copyright violations and has adapted a "shoot first and ask later" approach. (Renovation, last year's Worldcon, live streamed the ceremony over UStream without issue, including the clips.)
