I'm trying to convert an e-book borrowed from a British library (ACSM format) into a format which allows me to read it on my Kindle.
I thought I would be able to do this through calibre. I chose 'Kindle' as my device for set up, located the e-book on my desktop and added it to the calibre library, but when I tried to convert the ACSM file on my desktop using calibre I got the message 'Could not convert because no suitable source format was found'.
If anyone can offer advice, I'd be grateful. Thank you

Firstly, .acsm isn't an ebook file format, but a token file that Adobe Digital Editions uses to download a DRMed ePub.
You need to
- Download Adobe Digital Editions
- Install and register ADE, creating an Adobe ID if you don't already have one
- Open the .acsm file with ADE, which will download an ePub.
Unfortunately, your Kindle can't read ePub files, and DRMed ePub files cannot be converted by calibre to a format that the Kindle can read.
Some libraries may be able to supply you with a Kindle format file on loan instead.
