I wonder how much of the reported eyestrain of reading on a color tablet is due to, improper brightness setting combined with glossy screen.

My iPad1 (handed down to my wife) has a high quality matte screen protector and I found that with the proper brightness setting that it was nearly as easy on the eyes as my eInk readers but with the color vibrancy similar to color print.

My iPad2 however, does not have a screen protector and the reflections (regardless of lighting) cause a bit more discomfort.

a 10" color tablet, IMO, is the best ereader for manga, comic books, and other color documents such as scans of old print catalogs and magazines.
