No you have read correctly. There have been son changes, a few of the big 5 have settled with the courts, as part of the settlement they where required to let Amazon and other booksellers go back to the retail model.

Those that are fighting the DOJ still have the agency model intact.


Example go look on Amazon for a book published by Random House (who is using the Agency model) say "Payback" " by Phil Town. Under the price you will see it listed as "Price set by distributor. Now look for a book that is not in the Agency Model say "Princess Bride" or "Hunger Games ". You'll see both of these are reduced and no mention that the price was set by the vendor.
