If they announce stuff before Apple does at least they can't get sued for copying Apple.

Seriously, Apple used to announce new products in February and June. It is their own fault that they can't keep up with other companies' fast pace in developing new products and schedule their announcements right in the busy season before Christmas when everybody and his dog tries to get their new products on the market. And if Apple was the reason for the exact timing -- why wouldn't the others wait for that magical new product and then try to tweak their own designs after the Apple announcement? Once, when Apple still was the design leader, Samsung did that.
