The Ubuntu-Linaro tool-chains use ct-ng.
The CS/MG tool-chains are good, old fashioned, make files.
But the "fix" for internationalism might apply to either,
so might --no-nls
I seem to recall that MacOSx does not export LC_ALL=C
that would probably do no harm also.
