I want a new reader

I am debating between Kobo Vox and Sony PRS-T2.

I have a Sony PRS-600 but recently read Istanbul Passage on my IPad. I spent a good deal of time switching to GoogleMaps and finding the streets mentioned in the book, not to mention looking at maps for Turkey, Greece, Dardanelles, traveling the Bosphorus. It was a great reading experience.

The IPad is too heavy to use all the time. I know I could do something similar on a Vox but can I also do that on the PRS-T1 or T2? Is the browser good enough to handle GoogleMaps or do I need a Vox so I can download apps from Google Play? I think the Sony might be better as a pure reader but I think what I want is the middle ground between the IPad and PRS-600.

Opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
