whenever i discover that a book / author i want to read is not available in ebooks, i write to the publisher to ask whether they have any plans to move in that direction, and let them know i am eagerly waiting. sometimes i get a reply, sometimes not, often the reply is negative or inconclusive... but at least they know that someone wants ebooks. i think it's important for them to realise that.

i read somewhere that for each person who writes, they consider there are 7 (70 ? 700 ? 68% of statistics are made up on the spot anyway, let's just say "a significant number") *more* people who feel the same way but are too lazy to write. so one letter can have quite a bit of weight.

i encourage you to write to the publishers and request they digitise their back catalogue as well. i'm with you, there are a lot of older books i would love to see as ebooks.
