These two sound interesting. Is the screen difference really that noticable? That's almost dismaying .

I don't suppose you can find out which version of Android it's running? It's not visible in the standard "Settings" -> "About" -> "Device Information" on a T1. I ask mainly because of Calibre Companion which needs Android 2.3 or later.
