My wife uses a kindle (one with keyboard) and has had it for quite a while.

She has never registered it.

She has quite a few books on that we have downloaded from all over converted to mobi, most probably have had drm removed.

She now wants to be able to organize by collections, but this is greyed out and from reading here it seems you have to register to get to use that feature.

So how do you register and when you do does Amazon download info about what you have on your Kindle?

If she now registers will any of her content get altered or removed?
