There is at least one new FIRE on the way (probably 2, maybe 3) and a 90% certainty of a front-lit eink model.
Just consider that Amazon sells eight to ten million eink Kindles a year and have moved 6 million FIREs so far. That kind of volume allows for differentiation to address different user preferences; some folks *like* keyboards; others prefer Cheap & basic, small-and-light; while others prefer touch screens. (And let's not get into WiFi vs 3G.)
One reason why Amazon sells eight to ten million kindles a year is *because* they have so many variants; you can have it (more or less) your way.
