Yes. I use them for syncing between devices. I'll also check the TOC to see if there is a lot of fluff at the end so I know how many pages are left to read.

But i really like a TOC because my currnet reader will display chapter breaks, so I know how far I have to read to the end of the chapter. I miss a TOC when it isn't present.
