While the specualtion that MS will eventually take over Ithe tablet market may have validity, most purchasers look for what they can do with the device NOW, not what the situation may be in 3 or 4 years - and by that time, anything you buy now will more than likely be a quaint relic, in terms of tablet development. Microsoft has a lot of catching up to do, and it will be a good while until developers come up with a suitable number of apps to make their tablets viable alternatives to people other than those wishing to run MS Office.
