In the interests of accuracy, I'm going to point out that nobody actually complained (at least not directly in my KDP posts) about the amount of romance freebies and that the original romance thread in fact started out as
an offshoot for the chats and recommendations from that mega-Harlequin sale thread and then later became a general freebie/bargain romance thread
because I happen to be a no-romo at heart and you didn't think it was a good idea to rely on the kindness of strangers who are no-romos at heart, which incidentally, turned out to be a correct decision.
Also, many of the Harlequins mitford13 is mentioning as free @ Amazon were originally DRM-free ePub/PDF directly from the publisher at the
Try Harlequin site for those who need other formats.
Anyway, some time-limited sales for all you romos. Samhain is offering an extra 30% off the following titles with the August-long coupon BACKTOSCHOOL when you buy directly from their site (DRM-free MultiFormat; make absolutely sure to click "redeem" to make sure your coupon discount went through before entering your payment info). If you catch them during the pre-order/new-release week with the standard 30% off, then you get the books effectively at half-price:
•
Feeling Hot by Elle Kennedy, contemporary
•
Family Scandals by Denise Patrick, historical
•
Degrees of Wrong by Anna Scarlett, sci-fi
•
Twisted in Tulips by Nikki Duncan, contemporary
•
Sherlock's Home by Sharon DeVita, retro reprint contemporary
already past the new release week but still coupon eligible for 30% off:
•
Seven Sexy Sins by Serenity Woods, contemporary
•
Crazy in the Blood by Lucienne Diver, urban fantasy (with continuing series heroine, so probably not a dedicated
romance-romance)
Until August 18th, the Book View Café author consortium is offering selected titles on sale (they are DRM-free, but have recently switched from having MultiFormat redownloadable from their site to single-format which you have to keep your email link for, which is a considerable step down, IMHO).
Patricia Rice, who is being reprinted by Sourcebooks and re-released by ePublishing Works! and from whom we've gotten a few freebies recently, is offering the following romance titles on sale:
The English Heiress, #2 in the Regency Noble series, for $4.99 (down from $6.99), no coupon required
Some of the other sale titles require a coupon code, and this
dedicated specials page here has the details of what to enter for which.
Of possible interest to romance readers:
Jennifer Stevenson has been published by Random House and has a comedic-looking vampire paranormal romance (or urban fantasy with strong vampiric romantic elements, depending on how you look at things, since she was published under one of their sf/fantasy imprints rather than the dedicated romance ones) and offers $2 off her regularly $4.99:
A Taste of You
Pati Nagle has a couple of paranormal romance-looking urban fantasy titles featuring the "aelven" for 50% off their regular price of $4.99.
