Yes, cool; but software is $25 a pop. Long term costs will far exceed buying a tablet and loading it with free to $0.99 to $1.99 and up apps.
  • VTech InnoTab: $60 + 3 x $25 game cartridges = $135
  • Nook Color Refurb: $129 + free root + unlimited free apps = $129
  • Kindle Fire Refurb: $169 + no rooting + unlimited free apps = $169
  • Asus Nexus 7: $199 + no rooting + unlimited free apps = $199
Wait for the new Kindle Fire to be released (probably Nov; maybe sooner) and you should be able to get a new gen one Fire in the $149 range. I paid $149 for a new Fire from Walmart last Feb. I gifted it to a family member.

Personally, I'd recommend a Kindle Fire if it can be had for $149.
