On Windows, I open the firmware zip file in WinZip, then open an Explorer Window and navigate in it to the .kobo directory, and finally drag and drop the contents of the fimware.zip file to the .kobo dirctory.
So, when you navigate to the .kobo directory, that is with the KT plugged in to your PC, right? Otherwise you would not see it?
On a Mac, Finder = Explorer window, and when the KT is plugged in, the contents of the KT are shown when you select the Kobo Touch device in Finder. I thought I did copy the right files over, but it didn't seem to change anything. I will try this on my Windows Vista machine at work, and see what happens. Thanks Peter and Murg.

SUGOI! It worked this time, using Windows Explorer on the pc. I could actually see all the folders on the KT (somehow I missed seeing .kobo on the Mac in Finder). Now I have .19 installed, with the shortlist carousel and the clock! Perfect.
