As for why topics and ideas tend to regurgitate... While there is a vast chasm between the technology of today and the technology of ancient times, the people of today and the people of ancient times are fundamentally the same.

If you must have new ideas, here you go... Live the best that you can. Love the most that you can. Die contented. These are much more important than the great things that are going to change society. (I lied about the new ideas.)
