Mobile domain names

Hi,

My first post here. I was searching for answer about choosing the right domain name for our site's mobile version. I was sent here but I don't know if I'm in the right place to ask this kind of question. Anyway, here it is.

I was doing a keyword research for one of my client and found something special using Google's Keyword Tool.

The keywords for desktops is completely different from the keywords coming from mobile devices. Without giving you the exact terms/niche it goes something like this:

mainkeywordrichdomainname.com for desktop searches.
urgencywhattodo.com for mobile keyword searches.

So, is it OK to use the first for main regular website name and for the mobile version, use a completely different domain name like above?

I know the accepted standard is:

mainkeywordrichdomainname.com for desktop version.
m.mainkeywordrichdomainname.com for mobile version.

Can someone here answer this for me? I'm a bit lost.

Thanks in advance for any
