Re: the bundles (an idea I love), do some comparison pricing. I recall Pilotbob (where is he?) doing a comparison on one bundle (James Patterson?) and it was still cheaper to buy the books individually from Amazon. That may not always be the case but pricing may be close enough that you won't miss the bundling.
