It must be picking up page number from the Word doc. Word isn't exactly clever about web documents of any sort.

So if you WANT page numbers in a caliber ePub you're out of luck?

EPUB has no concept of a Page Number because of rescaling would make them wrong , anyway.



You use HTML anchors and links instead.
Now you can jump to any place (in the document) , regardless of scale
