I'm converting from an htm file to ePub for use via Lulu (their converter is really quite limited, even for my simple file)

I added the cover, which looks very good, except that the page number appears on the bottom (i.e. 1 of 311) . I can't seem to find any place that excludes the cover from the numbering.

Also, the second page (2 of 311) which has the title and copyright thinks it's two pages long as it's followed by a blank page also numbered 2 of 311

Any ideas?
Q.
Calibre does not number pages. Is Lulu doing this?

Sigil has a selection to declare the pages purpose (Symantics).
Cover, copyright-page... . those appear in the <guide> section of the (internal) OPF file
