Next, back to the Ukiah Oregon series, by Wen Spencer. Number two in the series is Tainted Trail.

Finished
Tainted Trail. This book felt like it was a bit forced. Too many clunky places in the narrative where the author kept trying to tell us what had already happened in the first book, and those places were both seriously uninformative, and highly disruptive of the flow of the book. If that continues into the next book,
Bitter Waters, I'm going to have to give up. But if Ms. Spencer gets past that, and focuses on the story she's trying to tell, then this series should continue to be quite enjoyable.
Also finished Elizabeth Moon's
Command Decision (Vatta's War #4) on Audible. Still an annoying reader, and the story has definite signs of being an "early work" before Ms. Moon had really found her legs, but it's also a quite decent series and I'm enjoying it a lot.
Meanwhile, next up is Dana Stabenow's
A Fine and Bitter Snow. Can't let
alansplace get
too far ahead of me.
