The recommendation for the irverHD was a good one, but you might not find them easily. The eink screen performs really well with its higher resolution for b&w comics. I loaded the Scott Pilgrim series on it and it did perfectly well for reading them.
I used a kindle utility to convert some color comics to 16 shaded grey scale and they were pretty good on it also.
