I may not want to read all 3 volumes at once but based on the way I manage my eLibrary I'll want it to be clear what I've read and what I haven't. So having the separate volumes makes it easier for me.
I get confused when reading a trilogy that's merged as one book. I have no idea of knowing how far I've gotten into the first or second book. For me it makes a difference to know how far into the story I've come.
