I remember, many years agoo now, my intro to Delderfield's work was "Horseman...", and it immediately sucked me into his world - and the sheer size, and range of the trilogy completely won me over. Then I went onto "To Serve......" which grabbed me just the same.
So I don't think it matters where you start, you'll still be hooked and read the rest !
