I'm reviewing at hawhill's unbricking procedure using the tool k3flasher from my vitualized Ubuntu, trying to keep the USB connection alive (my real problem) for flashing my bricked K3.

Your best bet is to use an Ubuntu live CD, then download and build from source k3flasher and libusbx. Virtualized USB connections never have worked too well (at least for me)....
