Actually, there are many other routes; luckily for those that don't want to pay even $0.99 for an app, there are many free alternatives.

I never ignore anyone on a moderated forum. Mods keep out the worst cases so it's usually not an issue, and I'd always worry that I was just ignoring people to avoid seeing opinions that don't match my own; using ignore always struck me as a bit masturbatory.
