I totally agree Nahgem! There is nothing more aggravating then reading a fanfic with established characters and the writer totally writes them out of character! As soon as I see that I dump the story.

But the best stories are written by writers who not only keep them in character, but then proceed to take them in different directions that are totally believable all because they keep the characters in character.
