Yes, they gave them paintings. In 1900 in France winners got paintings instead of gold medals. Gold, silver and bronze medals weren't given out until the third modern Olympics, in 1904. The French gave the winners paintings because they believed they were more valuable.
So the only questions left are the year in which drug testing first took place, and the Country for an extra point, and the age of the youngest olympian (we've had 9 and 11...)
