The 125,000 books mentioned is in reference to the number of titles available on the Kindle store at Amazon. That number is actually over 140,000 now. Of course we all know Amazon is only one source of books as this site is a great example of an alternate source. So yes you can access way more than than 140,000 books right from a Kindle if you're in a Sprint cell coverage area. You don't need them to be physically on the device to have access to them.
Unfortunately, since they don't specify that the "access" is actually to an online bookstore, the average person reading that is going to think that means access to them on the device ... which is only true if you've got Whispernet up and running.

It's a typical ad blurblet with incomplete and/or erroneous information. Again, makes me not think much of the magazine.
