My opinion is unless you plan on publishing books it is best that you start with Calibre. Convert your DOC/RTF to HTML then import to Calibre. Then in Calibre you can convert them to LRF.
NOTE: If your RTF are simple, (no Tables or pictures) then you do not have to convert those documents leave them as RTF.

Ther's to choice: REB1100-file, MS reader-file, Palm or Pocket PC-file, hiebook-file,
FiktionBook2-file, imp-file (GEB, REB), book-image (GEB REB, hiebook),
EBM-file, and Psion-file.
And I wanna have LRF-file ... Please ...
I think you have an older version of BookDesigner, here is the latest BookDesigner Download from the WIKI page

Also I recomend you check out WIKI BookDesigner Page if you plan on playing with BookDesigner. It a great place to start.
