Either You are hitting some markup code that is being interpreted by the T1 software as a close command or a piece of bad code that triggers the same response... I have had similar weird happenings with the odd epub, I have fixed it by running the epub through calibre - convert to mobi then back to epub.....Using SIGIL is fine as long as you are confident you know what you are doing remember that any code checker will only report invalid code but not necessarily inappropriate code.. if that makes sense, so sigil may report all is fine.....the e-pub standard is very "loose" so you will encounter bad stuff now and then.....
