And there are 15.6" laptops with 1920x1200 resolution (at least there used to be). If I remember correctly, they cost $250-300 more than 1280x800 res laptops. Unfortunately, people want cheap and there's not much incentive to continue making hi-res display laptops when few people are willing to shell out the cash for it. Besides, it's easier to start small. Didn't Apple have to delay release of the retina display for the iPad so manufacturing can keep up?

The laptop I am using now has 1280x800. I much prefer it to 1366x768. I don't need as much width as I do height.

On this point, I agree. Guess making 1366x768 and 1920x1080 panels is just cheaper since that's the standard HDTVs use. Really do miss 16:10 monitors. I'm just glad most Android tablets still use 16:10 instead of 16:9. Really sucks that there are barely any options for 4:3/5:4 and the few that exist are very pricey.
