Actually, no, NOT for a broken screen. The manufacturer's warranty covers manufacturing defects, electronic failure, etc. It doesn't cover accidental breakage by the user, which is what a broken screen substrate is. Amazon are exceptional in replacing Kindles in which the user has broken the screen. I don't know of any other retailer who would do this.
