It should work even better with the v2 backplate since it was basically designed to allow for larger batteries though I don't know for sure. From the looks of it, they just reduced a lot of the wasted space between the battery and along the top to improve stability. Someone would have to take theirs apart and see. It might allow for some of the larger capacity batteries like the 2 of the 2300 mAh.
