I've had very good experiences with Groupon on the whole
Sadly, they do tend to offer deals sometimes on products that are less than stellar.
They are currently in the midst of a class action suit regarding the fulfillment of one of their deals from last year. I had bough that deal, and, yes, the product, and the company that offered it was less than top-quality, but Groupon was quick to work on my behalf with them to get my issue solved, and I'm really not clear on why Groupon is the target of the class action, rather than the company that sold the product.
