The Pie is now split into far more pieces.

It may ultimately also be a bigger pie, but without the cost wall that used to limit the number of books offered, the pie is just going to be split into so many pieces that most pieces will be smaller than the pieces authors who managed to get published used to get.

This turn of has been forecast by many of us who started collecting ebooks back in the nineties and before. A lot of people discounted the thought back then. They aren't jeering at the thought anymore.
