D00701 = Kindle 2 (Global/International).
D00511 = Kindle 2 (US).
Normally, kindle models are distinguished by the first 4 characters (B0xx) of their serial number. Here are the serial number prefixes for various kindle models:

The "
info" you seek can be found by searching for either the first 4 characters of the serial number, or the descriptive model name (as shown above). The best place to look for authoritative kindle model specifications and detailed info is at amazon.com.
EDIT: In the Kindle Developer's Corner forum (and many posts here), we have a long tradition of naming kindle models with K (for Kindle) followed by the major firmware version number for that model (except for the DX and DX Graphite):
K1 = Kindle 1
K2 = Kindle 2
K3 = Kindle 3 (Keyboard)
K4 = Kindle 4 (Mini)
K5 = Kindle 5 (Touch)
Some older threads refer to the K4 as "K4NT" or "K4 Non-Touch", but all K4s are "non touch" so that extra junk is not needed (or wanted). Older threads may also refer to the K5 as "Touch", or "K-Touch", or "KT" (which can be confused with "KT = Kobo Touch" when doing MobileRead searches).
The Kindle Fire runs version 6.x firmware, but it has a separate thread and is not discussed in the Dev corner forum.
