Trap Line by Carl Hiaasen and Montalbano Bill
and
You Get What You Pay For by Larry Beinhart

Trap Line was the first Carl Hiaasen I read, and I haven't missed one since.
(and I'm pretty sure I've read all of Montalbano's much more limited range as well, and enjoyed those.) They make me do ATDrake's baby seal dance...

The Larry Beinhart is excellent as well.
