There are two ways B/W e-ink could become obsolete for me.

1.)Color e-ink becomes so cheap that a device with color e-ink is just $30-50 more than a B/W.

2.)New display technologies make color screens so good that the same device can work equally well for reading, browsing, and video.

My guess is that B/W prices will continue to fall, so they will be around a long time. And this is not a good environment to bring expensive new display technologies to market. So we will be stuck with what we have now for a few more years, at least.
