It is related to the bigger issue.. I have repeatedly attempted to upgrade calibre as per the instructions. For whatever reason, upon booting calibre, the version that comes up is 0.8.29. The repository version is ANCIENT and only gets changed when a new version of Ubuntu is released. IMHO 'remove' using Synaptic
Then run the command line shown on the Calibre Linux Download page
