Sorry, I don't understand. What do you mean by Linux Mint compatibility? The Kindle Touch (all Kindles, actually) interact with the computer via USB, either acting just like an external USB drive or (if you're into that) as a
networked device. There's no need for drivers or anything, both of these work out-of the box on Linux.
In fact, if you only want to read, and all your books are from Amazon, then you don't even need a computer at all.
Are you saying that the Kobo requires some kind of (presumably) Windows application to even be able to use it?
