The NYT Bestsellers List is not an indicator of anything conclusive. Or objective. Sometimes it's more like a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Nearly everything about a book release is commercial maneuvering (aka, marketing).

No one is required to defend their reading choices. My god, just the things I've read in the past week alone... If you enjoyed it, that's awesome - there's nothing quite like an enjoyable read. It's why we're here. (I mean MobileRead, but sometimes I think I exist to consume various forms of entertainment. Especially books. But I digress.)

I won't be reading it. The excerpts I looked at didn't appeal to me, and I have issues with the media frenzy (also marketing, btw) that stirred all this up.
