It is true that the folders will take up a space in menu structure, but only
one space each.
For example my jetBook Lite requires that there be a "Books" folder and a
"Pictures" in the root of the internal menory. I also maintain empty "Books"
and "Pictures" folders on my SD cards. (The menu system combines the
matching folders in the internal memory and SD file structure, so only one
of each appears in the menu.)
I currently have 6751 files in 50 folders on my SD card (actually, the files
are in 48 folders as the "Books" folder and the "Pictures" folders are empty).
The main menu for eBooks is called "eBooks" and contains five pages of
folders and a page of uncatagorized ebooks. Now each folder can have a
number of pages in its menu, for instance my "Mysteries" folder has 153
menu pages. My "Fantasy" folder only has 28 menu pages.
While two of my 50 folders may be "wasted", I can easily ignore that.
Luck;
