Bernard Cornwell - "Sharpe's Sword".

The book is about the Battle of Salamanca, Spain, during the Napoleonic wars. This year is the 200th anniversary of the Battle.

You can't beat Cornwell for historical action. What I love about his books is that you never know which character is real, not until you read the Bibliography at the back of the book. I love to guess which character was actually there.

Cornwell writes like he was actually right in the middle of the action!
