I think it would be a great idea to make a website where people can submit lost/stolen Kindle serials and then have it so people can check if it's in the database. We have that for Apple products and it works well.

I think Kindles are so cheap that it probably costs Amazon more than it's worth to get shipped the Kindle and then send it back out.
